Following on from the successful City Hub new build the Nottingham College was the recipient of funding from the ESFA for improvements to the infrastructure of the remaining estate and whilst most of this was allocated to the physical building fabric and improvements to the campuses themselves, one key element was to bring the remaining network infrastructure across the campuses into line with the technologies deployed at the City Hub.
In order to achieve this the college asked ITspire Ltd to manage the procurement process, working closely with the college infrastructure team to create a clearly defined set of requirements and build a robust tender process to ensure best value.
The project was in excess of £300,000 in value and was run against one of the Jisc Framework agreements. The contract was successfully let to the winning bidder and work is now ongoing to ensure delivery of the equipment to allow for the implementation phase of the project to begin.
