I am delighted to announce that starting at the beginning of April 2023 I will be working with DN Colleges Group for an initial 3-month engagement to provide Interim Director of IT and Infrastructure support.
DN Colleges Group, comprising Doncaster College, North Lindsey College, University Campus North Lindsey and University Campus Doncaster, is a large college based in South Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire with a mix of further and higher education offerings.
Initially, the focus of the role will be on:
- Reviewing current processes, support arrangements, staffing structures and providing any recommendations for improvement
- Reviewing all projects currently underway to ensure they are effective and in line with Group strategic aims; taking forward those that are and reshaping or cancelling those that are not
- Developing a strategic approach to managing and reporting on future projects within ICT and when ICT forms part of a larger project
- Ensure that the IT Infrastructure and teams are working as a Group resource, moving from individual college-based operations
- Working to ensure projects in train are delivered on time including new facilities for T-Levels and the Institute of Technology at Doncaster
- Work to shape the early stages of a DfE-funded new build at North Lindsey, replacing the current main building
- Ensuring that the Group is able to retain Cyber Essentials accreditation and developing information security practices further
- Reviewing the service delivery function, working with the team to develop a clear service catalogue, service levels and reporting to ensure delivery meets emerging Group needs
- Work with the Chief Operating Officers to develop a full-time post to take the Group forward building on the above
- Lead the team on day-to-day activities, giving stability and structure to their operations
This is a wide-ranging engagement and I look forward to helping the Group develop their ICT Services in all its facets.
